Uzzala - Second DynamycDesi Winner E-mail

Image The winner of 2nd DynamycDesi contest is Uzzala Martha Rozario. Popular in the South Asian and Austrian communities under the nickname Uzzala, she Moved to Austria in summer 1992 to complete her higher educations.

She has completed her higher educations and is now living in Vienna, Austria now. At the age of 6   she started learning music with the great “Ustad Rafiqul Isalm”. At the beginning she had learned only classical music. Afterwards she learned ‘Rabindro shangeet’,’ Nazrul geetee’, modern, folk, spiritual etc.

She received many awards in Bangladesh, as well as in various European countries. Uzzala performs live programmes in Austria throughout the whole year.

She has also performed live programmes in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and in the UK. ‘Baishaki Mala 2006’, she had performed in London. Although her mother tongue is Bangla, she sings in many languages, such as in Hindi, Urdu, Napali, Malayalam and German.

She performed several times in Austrian National Television (ORF1). Her music video was broadcasted in Bangladesh private TV channels - Channel I and ATN as well. Along with performing on the stage she is continuing learning classical music in Austria with the Great “Ustad Daniel Bradley” (student of Arnna Purna devi who is the daughter of Usted Alludin Khan). She also performed in different Austrian national programmes, organized by the Austrian Ministry for Culture. Besides modern songs she also performs classical music.

“Sangeeta” published her first album “Pora Bashi” in 2005. She is multi talented. Her talent in the fields of Acting and Dancing is admirable. She has acted in five Bangla dramas as the main character and also performed her dance talent several times on the stage and was highly appreciated by the audience.

She has opened the first ‘Bangla’ musical School in Austria in the year 1999. She has performed with many internationally well-known performers of Europe and Bangladesh.
